the kitchen revovation begins...

So we (Chad) are going to try and do a better job of actually posting updates and not just showing the whole process in one post. Here is the beginning of the kitchen remodel. We will end up with new countertops/floor/backsplash.

the before...
Looking from the back door...
Popping out the tile backsplash...
Ready for the countertops. The backsplash is gone and even though you cant tell, the counter tops are unscrewed and detached from the wall (except for the sink part of the countertop.

The Great Wall of Virginia Place...

Preparing for the task ahead... The before shot, with a few sections pre assemebled...
Rotozip magic on a metal post that may be as old as my grandparents...
That was a lot harder than it looks, I promise...
There it is in all its splendor...

Front Room Magic

The before...
With it taken down to the studs...
Sara painting the beaded board in the back...

Beginning to take shape (notice the joist hangers, my kind of building style)...
Where the magic took place...

There were a few trim nails used...
We worked some, but mostly we just hung around...

I know, it was a bad joke...
This was the point it started to really become real, it started to look like what we had in our mind's eye...

What a beaut...
With the tv shelf in place...

With the top shelf baskets...
Yeah, it was a war zone...

Our own Tetris game with our furniture...
Even the kitchen got in on the act...

Moved in, but no doors yet...
Painting the doors, I dont even want to think about how much Sara and Ann painted (dont forget the entire ceiling)...

Prepping the doors...
Getting excited to see what it will look like all put together...

This is for Jeff Reed, good times with the rotozip. I had to dance with 24 of these...
Rear doors hung, still no shelves above the tv yet...

With all four doors hung. Finished product and we love it...
Bringing back the before picture for comparison's sake...

The long overdue shutters...

The "before" shot, if you will...
Senior picture to the max, I just need the wooden blocks that say "2008" off to the side and I could be a senior at Poteet all over again, in a way...
Suns out, guns out...

Sara being a slight bit more delicate. We know our strengths when it comes to these projects and there is very little gray area.
Viola!!! (there are now shutters on the front window as well as the two windows on the porch for those of you thinking: "Viola? what is the difference?"; click on the picture to get a much larger picture)

WARNING!!! Ella pics ahead...

Looking like she did something wrong, but this dog can do no wrong, right?
The beauty of the 1.4 50mm prime...
She carries some water with here, imagine swimming with a towel wrapped around you...
But of course you could just shake violently to dry off...
Ella's thought bubble would read: "This must be what heaven is, I have a ball and I am swimming. Wait, am I in heaven now?"

She is a beauty.

Chad's birthday in Waxa

Maybe I wasnt supposed to take this...
2 good men right there...

Beth's Graduation

The fam...
4 generations, always a cool pic...
Beth fleecing Baylor into a diploma...
Beth and Ali...
This was Sara's first Whataburger experience, no honestly, first time she had ever had Whataburger. I know, crazy right?

Sara mocking my picture taking, needless to say I was very offended and taken aback by this gesture.
